Privacy Policy

Cassette itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The following table distinguishes between data handled locally on your device and data that may be collected by our advertising partner Google AdMob.

On iOS 14.5 and later, Cassette may request your permission to access the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

• If you allow tracking: AdMob may use your IDFA to deliver personalized ads and measure ad effectiveness across apps.
• If you deny tracking: Your IDFA is not accessed. AdMob will serve non-personalized, contextual ads only.

You can change your decision at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR apply to the processing of your personal data.

At first launch, Cassette displays a Google-powered consent form (User Messaging Platform) that allows you to choose whether advertising data is processed for personalized purposes.

Your rights under GDPR:

• Right of access — Request a copy of data held about you.
• Right to rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to restriction — Request limited processing of your data.
• Right to data portability — Receive your data in a structured format.
• Right to object — Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to withdraw consent — Withdraw advertising consent when the in-app consent form is presented (EU/EEA), or contact us at mohcinebadour@gmail.com.

Because Cassette itself stores no personal data on any server, the data subject rights above primarily relate to data held by Google AdMob. To exercise rights with respect to Google's data, please use Google's Privacy Dashboard or contact Google directly.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information.

Because Cassette does not sell personal information and does not collect personal data beyond what AdMob processes for advertising, most CCPA provisions are satisfied by the ATT framework already in place. California residents may contact us to request information about data practices or to opt out of any future data sale.

All permissions are requested only at the moment they are needed (just-in-time), never at launch. Denying any permission does not affect core playback functionality.

All data stored by Cassette (library index, playback positions, media files) resides exclusively on your device in the app's private container. You can delete this data at any time by:

• Deleting individual files within the app
• Uninstalling Cassette from your device (removes all app data permanently)

Data collected by Google AdMob is governed by Google's data retention policies.

Cassette is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app's age rating on the App Store reflects this. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Cassette after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Material changes will be announced within the app where feasible.
